Privacy policy
How Dr Madri Art collects, uses and protects your personal information, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Last updated: October 2026
1. Who is responsible for your information
Dr Madri Jansen van Rensburg, an HPCSA-registered Art Therapist (registration no. AT0002267, practice no. 1310380), is the responsible party for personal information collected through this website.
Email: DrMadriArt@gmail.com · Telephone: +27 79 053 1024 · Based in KwaDukuza, KwaZulu-Natal.
2. What we collect
When you send a booking request we collect the details you enter: your name, email address, phone number (optional), the service you are interested in, preferred date, time and area, and your message.
Your message may touch on personal circumstances or your health or wellbeing. This is special personal information. Please share only what you are comfortable with. Detailed discussion happens in session, not through the website form.
3. Why we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and arrange a session or workshop.
- To keep a short record of your enquiry while we arrange next steps.
We do not sell your information and we do not use it for marketing without your separate consent.
4. Your consent
By ticking the consent box on the booking form, you agree to your details being used to respond to your request. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.
5. Who we share it with
- Form provider. Booking requests are processed by a third-party form service (currently Web3Forms), which delivers them to the practice by email. Such providers may process data outside South Africa.
- Google Fonts. Our pages load fonts from Google, which may receive your IP address when a page loads.
We only share information where it is needed to run the website or if the law requires it.
6. Cookies and tracking
This website does not use analytics or advertising cookies.
7. How long we keep it
Website enquiries are kept only for as long as needed to respond and arrange your session, then deleted. If you become a client, clinical records are kept as required by HPCSA professional and legal record-keeping rules and are handled confidentially.
8. How we protect it
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No online transmission is completely secure, so please avoid sending highly sensitive details through the form.
9. Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, to correct or delete it, to object to its use, or to withdraw your consent. Email DrMadriArt@gmail.com and we will respond promptly.
10. Children
Sessions for children and teens are arranged with a parent or legal guardian. Please use the booking form on behalf of a child rather than the child submitting it.
11. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.
12. Not for emergencies
This website and form are not monitored for emergencies. If you or someone you know is in crisis, contact emergency services or SADAG on 0800 567 567.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date above shows when it was last changed.
